Your chord is yours.
We keep it that way.

SoulChord is built on Privacy by Design and Data Transparency: we collect essential information only, you can always understand exactly how your reading is calculated and used, and SoulChord must remain a safe, positive, and non-exploitative place. This policy explains, plainly, what we collect, how we collect it, everything we use it for, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to make it disappear.

What we collect, and how

Information you give us

  • Your name (first, middle, last) and date of birth — typed by you in the app. These are the raw material of your Pythagorean numerology chart. After creating your numerology chart, your full name and birth date don’t ever leave your device - they are never stored in our database, nor shared with any of our 3rd party partners. To be sure, your first name may be used for song personalization. We believe in collecting essential information only — no email, no account, no contacts, no location.
  • Feedback — if you choose to send it, we receive your rating and message along with an anonymous device identifier (a random ID, not your name or Apple ID).
  • Gift Song details — if you send a Gift Song: the recipient's email address, their first name (optional), and your note. Recipient emails are used once to deliver the gift and are never stored on our servers; the note and first name live only as long as the gift link — 30 days — and are then deleted automatically. A gift should carry a song, not a data trail.

Information created for you

  • Your numerology reading — computed from your name and birth date on your device. Only derived numbers (never your birth date itself) are sent to our servers to compose your song.
  • Your songs and lyrics — generated from that reading. Your saved songs also live in the Vault on your device.

Information collected automatically

  • Push notification token — only if you allow notifications, so we can tell you the moment your song is ready.
  • Basic technical logs — standard server logs used to keep the service running and debug problems.

What we deliberately do not collect

No advertising identifiers, no tracking across other companies' apps or websites, no location, no contacts, no behavioral profiling. SoulChord's success is measured by whether your song resonates — not by engagement statistics — so we don't build machinery to maximize your time in the app.

Every use of your data

  • Composing your reading and song. Your name and birth date are used to calculate your numerology chart (Life Path, Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, Birthday) and to generate your personalized lyrics and music. In the spirit of Data Transparency, the app shows you how each number shaped your song.
  • Delivering your song. Your song request and results are stored temporarily so the app can retrieve them, and your push token (if granted) is used to notify you when generation completes.
  • Improving SoulChord. Anonymous feedback and technical logs help us fix bugs and make the experience better.
  • Delivering a Gift Song. If you gift a song, the recipient's email address is used once to send them their private link, and your note travels with it.
  • Support. If you email us, we use your message and email address to reply.

That is the complete list. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we will not repurpose data collected for one purpose for a different purpose without asking you first.

Who we share it with

SoulChord works with a small number of service providers, each of which receives only what it needs to do its job. Each third party listed here is required to provide the same or equal protection of your data as this policy describes. We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

  • Sunoapi.org (third-party AI music generation). To compose your song, we send our AI music partner the generated lyrics and musical direction derived from your numerology reading. This is a disclosure of data shared with a third-party AI service: elements derived from your name and birth date are included in what's needed to create your one-of-one song. You provide this data knowingly when you request a song.
  • Vercel (hosting & storage). Runs our servers and temporarily stores song requests, readings, and results so the app can retrieve them.
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications). Receives only your device's push token to deliver "your song is ready" notifications. Used for nothing else.
  • Resend (gift email delivery). Receives the recipient's email address solely to send that one gift message. Used for nothing else.
  • Apple. Handles App Store distribution and any purchases under Apple's own privacy terms.

Retention, deletion & your choices

How long we keep things

  • Feedback is automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • Gift Song notes and recipient first names are deleted automatically when the gift link expires after 30 days; recipient email addresses are never stored at all.
  • Song requests, readings, and generated songs are retained on our servers so your Vault keeps working, and no longer than needed for that purpose.
  • Songs and readings saved on your device stay on your device and are removed when you delete the app.

How to delete your data or revoke consent

  • Request deletion of your server-side data any time by emailing i@soulchord.app with "Data Deletion Request" — we'll confirm when it's done.
  • Revoke notifications in iOS Settings → SoulChord → Notifications, any time.
  • Stop all collection by deleting the app — no account exists to linger. If SoulChord ever adds accounts, you'll be able to delete your account from inside the app.

You may also ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. We honor these rights for everyone, not just where the law requires it (including rights under GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, where applicable).

Security

Privacy by Design means strong protection and granular control over what information is shared and with whom. All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), the numerology mapping runs server-side rather than exposing your inputs to third parties unnecessarily, and access to stored data is limited to what operating SoulChord requires.

Children

SoulChord is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at i@soulchord.app and we will delete it.

Changes & contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above; material changes will be flagged in the app. Questions, requests, or concerns — a human reads every message.
